Our company

Scoria Games is an experimental video-game development and design studio. What does that mean? Well basically, it means that we do not enjoy the current pre-established 'copy&paste' mentality which seems to be sweeping the video-game industry.

Therefor, we try to abide by a strict principal of originality from design all the way to development. In other words, we are a bunch of kids who know what they want, and know how to share it with the world(provided we get a little help).

At Scoria Games we firmly believe that video-games can be, if treated properly, a form of art, they can convey beauty, and make the perfect vessel to carry the burden of moral. In the end it all comes down to this: We make the games that we would like to play.

Our motto

Our motto, 'Creatio ex igneus exitium', means "Creation through fiery destruction". This is because at Scoria Games, we believe than in order to make something new, you shouldn't always have to start out from scratch. Instead, you can grab something which already exist, and break it down(fiery destruction), later to reconstruct it. The name of our company, 'Scoria', comes from the igneous rock by the same name, which is created through the process of volcanic eruption, turning the minerals from earth into magma, then into lava, and later into the scoria stone. We always observe this natural process which all things must follow, and with enough time and patience we are confident that we can turn the existing coals of the video-game industry, into sparkling diamonds.
